Call for Papers

The AECT-LKAOE 2015 Summer International Research Symposium is organized by The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in partnership with Indiana State University (ISU), and hosted by East China Normal University (ECNU). The symposium will be June 17-19, 2015 in Shanghai, China.

 

This Summer International Research Symposium, serving as an open-discussion forum, is designed to draw the best minds together for an intensive intellectual exchange of ideas/information on research, development, and applications of all topics related to learning and knowledge analytics in open education in all disciplines. The feature of this symposium will be collaboration and interaction that encourages in-depth dialogue and different perspectives on predefined topics and problems. We will have two keynote speakers, fourteen invited speakers, four special sessions including a session to meet with the AECT Executive Director, panel discussions, roundtable discussions, and poster sessions to share visions, views, perspectives, and research evidence with participants. Participants will be heavily involved in discussions with presenters. The Symposium will be presented in English. You will need to write the proposal and paper in English and upon proposal approval, present your topic and facilitate discussion in English.

 

We invite you to attend the AECT-LKAOE 2015 Summer International Research Symposium in Shanghai, China, and submit proposals for panels, roundtables, and posters. Panels must have three to five panelists. Proposals and papers will be blindly reviewed by three reviewers for inclusion in the conference program and proceedings. To submit a proposal/paper electronically, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Submission System link and log in.
    • For the first-time access, create a new account by entering your e-mail as your user ID and create a password.
    • For future access, directly log in using your e-mail and password. You have to use the same e-mail that you used when you created your account. If you forget your password, click the "forget password" link and a system-created password will be e-mailed to you.
  2. When logged in, submit your proposal following the instructions provided.
  3. If you encounter a problem and need help, you may e-mail aect-lkaoe@aect.org

A complete proposal consists of:

  1. A presentation title
  2. A chosen track
  3. A chosen topic
  4. Format (panel (3-5 panelists) , roundtable, or poster)
  5. A short description (75 - 100 words)
  6. An abstract (750 – 1000 words)
  7. Keywords (3-5)
  8. Equipment request
  9. List of presenters
Do not include presenters' information anywhere in the short description or the abstract. Spell out all abbreviations and acronyms in full the first time they appear in the proposal. All citations and references should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 6th Edition. Double-check your proposal to make sure there are no typos or grammatical errors in writing. An electronic notification acknowledging receipt of the proposal will be sent to the submitter's e-mail address automatically.
